Hi, I'm

Profile
Welcome to amychappelDesign.
I graduated University with a degree in Design for Film, Tv, and Stage from the University of Salford. I am a passionate and driven artist with an unyielding commitment to transforming the world of stage and theatre design. My journey has ignited a deep passion for stage design, fuelled by a desire to create inclusive spaces where everyone can experience the magic of live performances.
My vision goes beyond aesthetics; it's about breaking down barriers and making theatre an all-encompassing platform for expression. My experiences and education have equipped me with a diverse skill set, while I may have limited prior experience in working directly on sets, my creativity and innate problem-solving abilities have consistently enabled me to overcome challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
The heart of my artistic ethos lies in the belief that theatre should be a space where diversity thrives and where each individual feels welcomed, represented, and seen. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of cultures, perspectives, and historical periods, I strive to infuse my designs with a tapestry of voices that resonate with audiences on a profound level.
My strengths as an artist include an innate ability to visualise concepts in unique and captivating ways. From sketching initial ideas to meticulously crafting intricate scale models. My creative soul thrives on the synergy of collaboration, and I am eager to work alongside fellow creatives who share my visions. I aspire to not only craft breathtaking sets but also shape environments that evoke emotions, challenge perceptions, and inspire dialogue.
Experience
I have experience spanning from being an art department assistant at BBC's 'Waterloo Road' to working as an Art Director for two separate Graduate Student television projects, as well as helping to organise the Graduate exhibition for my University. These experiences have undoubtedly equipped me with a valuable set of various skills and insights that are not only relevant to the entertainment industry but also highly transferable to various other creative and collaborative fields.
